Amanda Pont-Shanks will be hosting a sash weaving workshop that will showcase different styles of sashes and teachings. A great event for children and adults to learn about the history and culture of the Metis Sash.

Amanda Pont-Shanks is a citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario, tracing her homeland to the historic Red River settlement. Amanda is a Métis Family Wellbeing coordinator for the Métis Nation of Ontario, servicing the Niagara Region and held a seat as chairperson on the Niagara Region Métis Council for three years and as a councillor for four years before becoming MNO staff. Amanda has diplomas from Niagara College in Art and Design Fundamentals/ Graphic design production, Aboriginal Child Development, and Early Childhood Education.
