Celebration of Nations Welcome + 2021 Celebration of Nations Outstanding Achievement Awards

Artistic Director Michele Elise Burnett and Artistic Producer Tim Johnson share a welcome to the 5th annual Celebration of Nations, virtual edition. 

Dr. Duke Redbird will read his poem Stolen Children, Stolen Souls as part of the opening of the 2021 Celebration of Nations.

This program will also feature the 2021 Celebration of Nations Outstanding Achievement Awards that will honour some very special people whose participation in Celebration of Nations programs and sustained commitment to truth and reconciliation have helped to establish this event as a nationally recognized Indigenous arts and intellectual gathering. 

Past recipients include: Susan Aglukark, Angela DeMontigny, Kayanesenh Paul Williams, Nicole Joy-Fraser, Karl Dockstader and Sean Vanderklis, Katsi Cook, MPP Wayne Gates, Santee Smith, Sam Thomas, Gary Parker, Larry McDermott and Mayor Walter Sendzik.
