The ABCs of Mother Earth

Ongoing // Algoma Central Lobby at FirstOntario Perfoming Arts Centre

The photographs on display were taken from the ABCs of Mother Earth book created by the students in the Soaring Eagles Indigenous Secondary School Program to honour the land. Each photograph is intended to make you feel closer to Mother Earth, and appreciate the beauty of life she gives us. Our existence would not be possible without the gifts of Mother Earth that continue to nurture us all today. We all have a responsibility to honour and respect these gifts for future generations.

All photographs were taken at the Soaring Eagles Secondary Program site. The Program is located at the Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Centre, and is delivered by the Niagara Catholic District School Board in partnership with the Niagara Regional Native Centre and the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.

A special thank you to Dr. Peter Vietgen, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Brock University, Niagara Catholic District School Board staff Kelsey Huxley, Marco Magazzeni and Alejandro Cadavid, as well as the assistance of Bobbi Jones-Japp.  We appreciate your support and the time you spent helping us with the creation of this project.
