101 Deweguns  – Build 101 drums from kindness.

Calling all trail blazing sanders – Join 101 Deweguns and be part of a living hearts legacy.

This phase of the project is set to begin in 2021, where all 101 assembled Drum frames are ready to be introduced into a number of sanding workshop venues. Volunteers of all ages and all walks of life will sand their awesome, loving, and nurturing energy into their choice of frame, using 80 grit sand paper to round off and smooth out any course edges.

‘All 101 Deweguns workshop participants will be entered into a draw for a “Commemorative Drum” to be drawn on Sunday.’

About 101 Deweguns

At first glance this initiative of the arts may appear to present itself solely as the making of 101 Hand Drums (Deweguns), but the core of its vision rests upon much more.

It envisions nurturing and strengthening of the voice of our inner child; building upon ‘Paying Forward’ acts of kindness as we collectively persevere and navigate through challenging global times.

It is supported upon an established foundation embracing and honouring the legacies of Chanie Wenjack and Gord Downie. Our collective’s goal is to help generate awareness and support for the ongoing efforts of the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.

Our focus is to encourage open reconciliatory dialogue, enabled through embracing the positive human attributes of love, respect, bravery, truth, honesty, humility, and wisdom.
